PERFORMANCE SKILLS
& DRAMA
Geoffrey is a graduate of the Victorian College of Arts (VCA) in Drama and has many years experience in television, Film and live performance.  He can work with basic classes to more advanced groups; characterisation, assistance with generating performance ideas, persona pieces and monologues. I.e. able to work through the process of the skills involved with presenting a piece be it a poem, monologue, ensemble piece etc,

Performance skills can be broken down into several areas.

Some examples:

* Anyone can do it.
A look at the fun that people can have by talking, acting, in front of a group or audience
The butterflies go once you are up on that stage and the fantastic feeling after you’ve been up there is worth it.

*  Vocal skills:

*  Movement.

*  The combining of vocal, movement and expression.

*  Characters:  Making up a character

*  Animals: A funny look at how animals move and interact.

*  Generating performance ideas, persona pieces and monologues.
The process of the skills involved with presenting a piece be it a poem, monologue, ensemble piece etc,

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Geoffrey has done many workshops in the areas of self-esteem, communication and motivation.  Experience in the corporate sector has been invaluable and Geoffrey has a knack in combining his experience in entertaining to make workshops not simply educational but “fun”.

Using Drama, Geoffrey can tailor his workshops to include related areas of personal development and self-esteem, including: attention seeking, success in one area leading to success in other areas, self-motivation, ‘Bullying’, communication skills  goals setting, respect for self and others etc.

HISTORY/ENGLISH

Workshops in the area of Bush poetry, ‘Let’s have fun with Bush Verse’
in particular the study of Henry Lawson, and John O’Brien and other traditional poets ‘Banjo’, CJ Dennis etc. Getting kids to write their own.
Australia’s Heritage and identity are focal points in Geoffrey’s work.
